The Remix: Pantone Spring/Summer 2010 Palette
Everyone, it's that time of year to start pulling all your spring/summer clothes out of the closest to see what can be "remixed" and make a list of what new items you may need. Pantone is the first place I check to see what color hues are en vogue for the season. I found out about this site a few years back when I was browsing a bead site for my jewelry making and they provided a link so when you shop for beads you would have an idea of what colors to possibly buy. This site shows all the fashion as well as home hues and is really informative with designer background vignettes to support the colors of the season.
No surprise that pops of color anchors the hues that will be in the stores and showrooms. Since I am all about colors, my favorites listed for this season are Fusion Coral (mix of tangerine with red and peach undertones), Violet, Turquoise, Aurora (maize-like yellow), and Amparo Blue (Sapphire tone). Many of these colors I have in my wardrobe but maybe not exactly these shades. As a fashionista on a budget, I may only be buying a few accessories or basics to incorporate in my collection. For those that have work environment restrictions or don't fancy themselves in eye popping colors here are the neutrals that might be up your alley and to me all these scream spring: Dried Herb(sage or green khaki), Tuscany (darker stone), Pink Champagne ( the new white), and Eucalyptus (light gray).
In the coming weeks and months, I will illustrate how I have incorporated these colors palettes into my outfits but again this is just a blueprint of what's out there. I know I will definitely be doing my own thing and go outside this blueprint and I encourage everyone else to do so as well.
