The Remix: Season Transition.
If you live in the Northeast you experienced a welcome season temperature transition last week. Most of us scramble to get our spring wardrobe out of the closest or make a bee line to the nearest store to pick up the new pieces for the season. You might want to halt that peep toe or sandal wearing just yet! The mornings are still pretty brisk and the warm up hasn't reached the inside of the office, on the contrary, the office has probably turned the heat off and started to crank the AC. With this outfit I have shown how you can dress for the warm up and not be out sick for the next week! It's all about layering and putting pieces together that you can peel off outside as needed at lunch or after work.
The pencil skirt is from Express 2008 spring collection and is a great print with subtle black and grays which has great stretch to it made with a lighter cotton blend fabric (I wear this skirt all year round). The sapphire blue turtleneck (2009 Express spring collection) is actually short sleeves so when you peel the heather grey cardigan (2009 Winter Express collection) off you can instantly be in tune with the weather outside without freezing inside or during your morning commute. The black belt (I told you it would show up again from our red shirt dress from last week) gives you a nice silhouette and the BCBG sapphire patent leather heels (2008 end of season at Macy's) gives the outfit, along with top, a pop of color. The black tights can be switched out for thinner 'hose. The indigo and black rock necklace I made ties it all together.
