The Remix: Color in Winter

The Remix: Color in Winter

We all go through the winter blahs especially if you live in the Northeast. A bright bold color like red always energizes me when it’s gray and gloomy outside. You may not want to go to your day job but at least your clothes don’t tell that story! For this look I paired a nice candy apple red shirt dress from Express circa 2008, ladies it has some great stretch too it, black belt which came with the dress (you will see this belt show up again later this week), the red wrap sweater also from Express this season, along with a charcoal grey turtleneck from Forever 21 2008 and you can’t tell from the photo (I promise to get more detailed in upcoming photos) a black and grey hounds tooth print tight clearance section of Target 2008 with a peep toe red Mary Jane shoe from Steven by Steve Madden several years ago from Strawberry (this is a new york based discount store) clearance section. The lesson here is everything was from previous years except for the red sweater from this season so I just remixed the outfit and I lucked out the sweater was the same shade as the dress even thought the items came from different years but same store. Also the dress was bought in the spring time that year but by layering and pairing it with a sweater and tights you can “stretch” that item to a winter or fall item since red is for any season.
