Transformation Tuesday: Moroccan Argan Oil

Post number seven for my #30IN30 highlights a beauty tip I am in love with, Argan Oil. I first learned about this product from reading an interview with Amerie in HoneyMag.com who mentioned this great beauty tip that she used on her own skin and hair. This oil comes from Morocco and is actually a nut that is harvested. To learn more about the origins of this incredible oil check out Josie Maran’s site not only for background but also for some outstanding face and hair products all made with Argan Oil. The benefits to help with dry skin and acne are very noticeable in a short amount of time using the product. This brand was my first foray into the Argan Oil market and I have used the tinted moisturizer as well as the SPF 40+ moisturizer. The quality of her products is superb, a little goes a long way and most importantly the price points are very reasonable ranging from $14-$52 and are also available at most Sephora Locations.

Another brand to spotlight Argan Oil is the Organix Line, which has hair care as well as body care items. My go to products in this line are the Intense Moisturizing Treatment and the Penetrating Oil. As someone who has thick, naturally curly hair, the Intense Treatment is a must once a week I use and keep on for a half hour, wash off and then style with my Deva Chan gel and a little bit of the Penetrating Oil to help maintain shine and keep away frizz especially with this extremely hot and humid summer we are having! This line is available at most drug stores, Target, or Wal-Mart and ranges from $7.99-15.00.

A third option is to purchase just pure 100% Argan Oil serum and I have found Whole Foods Beauty Department is affordable and has a few different options in brands/price points. I bought my serum which was in a small bottle with a dropper for about $20.00 (on special), which I could use for my face or in my hair so ladies, 1 item for multiple uses especially for those that travel, is a blessing!
