Summertime can be a great time for curly hair ladies being able to air dry hair but without the right products, it can turn into a frizzy hell! Here are just a few hair care lines that I have tried and love, tweet me some of your faves @Stormsez
Deva Chan - Their line of products I
have used probably the longest especially since I have gotten my hair cut at
the salon in NYC for years! The citrus scents and natural feeling products have
served my hair well thru the years and a little goes a long way! I normally
stock up at Ricky's but Sephora just announced they will be carrying this great
line! My go to's: DevaCurl Lo Poo Shampoo, One Conditioner, Arc Angell Gel.Aveda Be Curly Line - Their Curly line is a new addition and I most recently started using this after getting a few samples of the conditioner and curl enhancer cream when I recently got my hair cut at their salon. I like the texture of the products and again the natural scents and ingredients were a big draw. My go to's: Invanti Shampoo (Great for getting rid of build-up and residue from past products and for my psoriasis), Be Curly Conditioner, Be Curly Curl Enhancer, Be Curly Hair Spray.
Carol's Daughter - The natural ingredients and scents definitely were a draw since I already was using the body scrub and soufflé from this line I moved over to hair care when I visited the store on 125th in Harlem. My go to's:
The Hair Milk was my first addition (now with the newer formulation I use the Lite version) then I branched to the Black Vanilla Conditioner (So addictive the smell alone!) and for my scalp issues I used the Rosemary Mint Shampoo. Also, the Tui smoothie was a great treatment. Looking forward to sampling the Monoi collection!
Jane Carter
Solutions - I saw an article first in Essence Magazine years ago and found
this collection while shopping in Whole Foods! The founder's story resonated
with me so I decided to try it! I liked the lightness of the products and how
lightweight it left my hair afterwards. My go to's: Nourishing Shampoo,
Nutrient Replenishing Conditioner, Nourish & Shine treatment, Condition
& Sculpt.Ouidad - I was introduced to this line by a co-worker who gave me a gift certificate for the salon in NYC. It was my first experience going to a salon that just specialized in curly hair! It was a good experience and started me on the road to learning to wear my hair curly at all times! I recently replenished at Sephora during the holidays! My go to's : Curl Quencher Shampoo & Conditioner, Tress Effects Styling Gel.
